Dankwart Koehler

Dankwart Koehler is a well known photographer in Monmouth County and beyond, engaging in Black & White and Color photography, as well as in Digital Processing of images. His color images are either printed with the Ilfochrome process or an inkjet printing process, both of which have an archival permanence of over hundred years. In the summer of 2006, he moved from New Jersey to Portland, Oregon

Philosophy:

To search and capture the beauty in everything around us, large and small.

Nature, Architecture, Abstracts, Figure, Special Photographic Effects.

Exhibitions:

Several one-person shows in local galleries in New Jersey and Portland, Oregon, and at Princeton University; many group shows in New Jersey, Belgium and Germany, including acceptances in 24 international exhibits

Awards:

Over 500 honors and awards, nationally and internationally, including an international best-of-show medal.

Education:

Primarily self-taught through literature, lectures and experimentation; courses at New School in New York; workshops in France, Arizona and New Mexico

Professional Background:

Dr. of Engineering degree in Electronics. Upon retiring from Bell Laboratories, formed own photography company "DK- Images L.L.C."

Affiliations:

Exhibiting Artist at the Guild of Creative Arts; founder and Life Member of Monmouth Camera Club in New Jersey, member of Infinity Photo Art Group in Beaverton, Oregon

Other Activities:

Lectures in photography clubs; judges in photography clubs and international salons.
